As you may know it’s International Cat Day on August 8th ????
Cats are sadly Australians number two most loved pet, but at least they rule the internet!

I am the founder of Cat Napping Suburban Retreat which consists of four cat hotels across Melbourne.

My aim for International Cat Day is to educate cat owners of what to do and what to look for when choosing a cattery. I have put together a short guide on this subject and also started a Facebook group (Melbourne Catteries United) with other cattery owners in Victoria – see we are not a catty group of people, just working together for the love of cats!

Gone are the days of asking your neighbour to pop over once a day and feed the cat- whether left inside or outside alone. Cat owners are more aware of the dangers of cats getting injured if left outdoors whilst owners are away and also of them damaging wild life and habitats.

At Cat Napping we cater for all budgets as we want cats safe. Prices from only $20 per night. But we are talking about cats; at Cat Napping we offer the royal treatment with a stay in The Residence for $80 per night, for this cats will get a room bigger than most hotel rooms, boasting a real human bed, multiple cat scratching posts, a cat wheel, heating and cooling and of course room service.
