SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, Safe Havens Sentinel V2: delivering modern child-safe capability development and protection services for the cloud-first, mobile-first organisation
Australian developers Devworkz has announced the release of Safe Havens Sentinel V2, a modern child abuse protection system that now supports education, councils, sporting groups and faith-based communities across Australia and New Zealand. The cloud-based platform is designed to provide a full, end-to-end service for the development of ‘Child Safe’ capabilities, child-focused reporting, case management, and performance reporting.
Safe Havens Sentinel is an omnichannel platform built on Reactive web, iOS, Android and PWA operating systems. The platform is highly scalable, servicing anywhere from one through to thousands of locations. The solution is a multi-tenant cloud platform with both a SaaS and a private enterprise option, running on AWS. Development was performed by a certified Devworkz team using OutSystems, a leading modern application platform.
“Optimised for the entire lifecycle of the application, OutSystems simplified how we developed ‘Safe Havens’ and also accelerated all the steps in the process with state-of-the-art tools and industry-leading AI-powered automation. The platform provides the capability to scale and flex as needs evolve, even supporting millions of users. Also, with enterprise-grade security from the ground up, it ensures that we are secure from the design stage right through deployment and operations,” said John Ackery from Devworkz.
The Safe Havens platform is infused with Artificial Intelligence (AI) via OutSystems Machine Learning Builder and Microsoft Azure1. It also features internal chat services with sentiment analysis overlay, and high-quality mobile experiences first authored in OutSystems’ Experience Builder.
As the Children’s Guardian Amendment (Child Safe Scheme) Bill 2021 (Bill) has moved through NSW Parliament it creates a regulatory framework requiring relevant organisations in NSW to comply with new strict ‘Child Safe’ standards. To enhance support for organisations that need to comply with these obligations, new ‘Child Safe’ deployment and performance assessment features are being introduced to the Safe Havens platform.
Social logins, such as Google, Facebook and or Apple complement 2nd level authentication with one-time passwords to manage and secure student and community access. General access is strictly controlled with an integrated compliance layer to ensure users maintain external WWCC certifications, and personal audit checks to control access rights.
“The release of the new Safe Havens Sentinel V2 is a major step forward in addressing Australia’s considerable challenge to significantly reduce child abuse and neglect. With its flexible design, this release enables organisations to build capabilities that are child-safe across hundreds of locations while monitoring what’s going on at any given moment – all from one system,” said John Ackery, the Safe Havens team.
