PRESS RELEASE: Matthew Levy OAM champions new platform to amplify Australian charity voices

Charity Journal (https://www.charityjournal.org.au), a newly established volunteer-powered, not-for-profit storytelling platform, is set to make its mark on the Australian charitable landscape thanks to the support of founding patron Matthew Levy OAM.

Matthew Levy, a Paralympic gold medallist, disability inclusion advocate, and author, has been a driving force behind the launch of Charity Journal, which aims to empower charity leaders, advocates, and ambassadors to share their stories with the community.

Championing storytelling for change:|

“I believe storytelling is a powerful tool for education and inspiration,” said Matthew Levy OAM. “Through Charity Journal, we can amplify the voices of those making a difference. From my experience as a Paralympian to my work with various charities, I’ve seen firsthand how sharing stories can foster awareness, connection, and positive change in our community.”

Levy believes storytelling has the potential to build empathy and drive impact: “Stories have the power to bridge divides, break down barriers, and inspire action — one voice can change countless lives.”

Drawing from his extensive experience as an advocate for inclusion and equity, Matthew’s vision for Charity Journal is to inspire, educate, and motivate Australians to engage with and support charitable causes.

“Empathy is the bridge that connects us – and sharing our stories is the first step toward crossing it,” he added. “When we amplify the voices of those driving change, we empower others to join the journey toward a more inclusive and compassionate world.”

The platform will feature interviews, Q&A sessions, and feature articles that spotlight the remarkable work of Australian charity leaders, volunteers, and ambassadors. The content is developed by a team of dedicated volunteer writers who are committed to producing meaningful stories that encourage empathy, understanding, and action.
A community-driven initiative

Charity Journal operates as a volunteer-led, not-for-profit platform supported by small grants and community donations. By remaining free and ad-free, the platform ensures accessibility for all while giving volunteer writers opportunities to hone their skills and build their writing portfolios.

“Our goal is to provide a space where powerful stories can be told, connecting individuals with the incredible work happening across Australia’s charitable sector,” said a spokesperson for Charity Journal. “We are incredibly grateful to Matthew Levy for his invaluable support in helping us bring this vision to life.”

Levy reflected on his involvement: “We all have a role to play in building a more inclusive future – and sometimes, the greatest impact comes from simply giving someone the space to be heard.”
