CRAFTING THE PERFECT HARMONY FOR RETAIL SUCCESS – BRISBANE LOCAL BUSINESS TAKES HOME 2 NATIONAL RETAIL AWARDS

Simply for Strings, Australia’s premier specialist string instrument store, has been awarded the National Retail Association’s “Small Retailer of the Year Award” and the Australian Retail Association’s “Independent Retailer of the Year Award”.

These awards are awarded based on strict criteria and achieving both in the same year is a huge coup. Simply for Strings employs less than 19 staff and has been noted for continuous innovation and growth at a time of disruption and low sales in the retail sector. The young company has also been celebrated for successfully positioning themselves as having a unique customer experience and being a top employer with excellent workplace satisfaction.

“I am so proud of our Simply for Strings family! Our team are remarkable people who share and spread our love of music to all,” Anna Andriolo, co-founder said. “Congratulations to a sensational team of passionate and committed humans”.
Simply for Strings has been awarded the Small Retailer of the Year and the Independent Retailer of the Year awards by the two different nationally recognised retail associations. No easy task. “What an amazing achievement for our violin shop”, Toby Cumpstay, co-founder said.

It’s not the only accolades that have been heaped upon the small business based in Brisbane; Anna Andriolo was recognised earlier in 2018 as one of Business Queensland’s 100 Faces of Small Business, and Simply for Strings was a finalist in the 2017 Australian Retail Awards. They are also in the running for the Small Business Achievement award which is handed out by the Queensland Community Achievement Awards.

Simply for Strings is housed in the ‘Old Church’ in Red Hill. For string musicians across Australia, this well-known location has become synonymous with a world-class range of string instruments and accessories. The inspiring showroom has become a hub for string musicians across the country. The store’s highly-trained, dedicated staff provide instrument sales expertise, repairs, and servicing. Simply for Strings has recently launched a community instrumental music program, donating repaired string instruments to those in need. This program has so far donated over fifty (50) instruments to much-needed recipients across Australia from indigenous communities in far north QLD to growing programs abroad in Vanuatu.

In addition to our community instrumental music program, 2018 was the inaugural year of the Simply for Strings Aspiring Musicians Award – two young Australian musicians who display outstanding passion and potential will become benefactors of one of two high-quality violins that they will possess for a year to help propel their playing to the next level.

The business is continuing to develop and with more products, events, and services in the pipeline for 2019. It looks like the future is sounding better and better for Simply for Strings!
