PRESS RELEASE: Aussie comedy duo making waves in Hollywood

Stef Beaton and Georgie Storm Waite are no strangers to the grind of Hollywood, however their comedy act has meant that laughter is always along for the ride. Brisbane actress Stef Beaton met Melbourne actress Georgie Storm Waite whilst attending The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. Their two year acting conservatory at AADA has seen the likes of Paul Rudd, Anne Hathaway, Grace Kelly, Robert Redford, Kim Cattrall grace their hallways. Although Georgie is related to Joseph Jefferson – one of the most famous American comedians of the 19th Century, Stef and Georgie clicked whilst discussing their favorite Aussie comedians. A short time after, they began working together as a comedy duo. Although they had created their own sketches, it was when they were booked on a short film called ‘Headcase’ that they decided to take their comedy duo to the next step.

Inspired by other women paving the way, Stef and Georgie created a new series called ‘The Lost Girls” which is about a group of young women who don’t know how to ‘adult’ properly – but with the help of their friends (and wine) they survive and thrive. Two of their short films for this new series have just been nominated for four awards in an upcoming Film Festival in Los Angeles. The comedy duo admits that they take inspiration from favorite Aussie characters in shows such as Summer Heights High, Thank God You’re Here and Kath and Kim. Both are also huge fans of Rebel Wilson, so when they were invited to a special screening of her latest film – The Hustle – they jumped at the opportunity. ‘We got out of that film and were so motivated to keep creating our own content as we’ve seen how far Rebel has come’ – Stef. ‘Both lead actresses were incredible, but there’s nothing like seeing one of your own (Aussies) killing in it Hollywood.’ – Georgie

Stef and Georgie are also acting together in a new and exciting horror feature called ‘ Getaway.’ Getaway has recently received a large amount of press across the globe, as the film features the character from the viral “Momo challenge hoax” that occurred earlier this year. Both women are writing and starring in a new music video feature called ‘Roses’, coming out later this year. Stef also produces an improv night in Hollywood and stars in a series called ‘Dredgewood’ which is currently in talks with Amazon. Georgie has most recently worked on the television series ‘Crazy Ex Girlfriend’ and a feature film called ‘Project Hollywood.’ Stef and Georgie are excited for what’s in store and are so grateful for their family and friends –who are their biggest support system.
