PRESS RELEASE: Aussie Wedding Rings Help School Girls Sparkle.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sydney, Australia, 9 October 2019. In celebration of International Day of the Girl, Australian Wedding Rings, an online retailer of Australian-made wedding rings, is thrilled to announce its charity partnership with The Harding Miler Education Foundation, an organisation that provides life-changing high school scholarships to high potential Australian girls who are facing disadvantage.

Since 2012, 11 October has been marked as the International Day of the Girl. The day aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges facing girls, while promoting girls’ empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights. (https://www.un.org/en/events/girlchild/)

The Harding Miller Education Foundation has been selected for its unique, long-term approach to addressing the imbalance in gender equity through the education of high potential Australian young girls in the public school system who face disadvantages such as displacement, financial hardship or family violence. The foundation’s aim is to lift their scholarship recipients’ educational achievements and career aspirations and break the cycle of disadvantage they are experiencing.

“Many families of students we support can’t put food on the table let alone pay for a computer, internet connection and one on one tutoring. We’re giving scholarship recipients what they need to succeed. The scholarships include computers, internet access, money for other equipment and access to tutoring and mentoring to make their final years of schooling a success.” Cara Varian, Executive Director for The Harding Miller Education Foundation said.

In addition to raising awareness of their important work and encouraging donations, Australian Wedding Rings will also be making donations on behalf of their customers. From 11 October 2019, every purchase made through Australian Wedding Rings will raise one month’s online tutoring for one girl.

Alex Hernandez, founder of Australian wedding rings added: “As an Australian company with Australian-made products, our focus will always be to nurture communities at home. We’re delighted to contribute to a brighter future for these young women and ultimately Australia. The Harding Miller Education Foundation is doing truly remarkable work.”

Since 2016, over 350 girls across Australia have benefited from scholarships offered by The Harding Miller Education Foundation. The Foundation’s administration costs are covered under a separate founding corpus, ensuring that 100% of contributions go directly to the scholarship recipient, maximising the benefit to the girls. Australian Wedding Rings encourages the public to consider supporting this worthy cause through donations or raising awareness in their local communities.
