PRESS RELEASE: Carers needed for young people in the out of home care sector: Carers allowance paid and rent can be fully covered

At this uncertain time with COVID_19 restrictions still ahead of us all, a NSW Care Agency is in need of finding suitable people to provide a safe, stable and loving environment to children who are unable to access this type of care.

The Caring with Carers agency is looking for NSW community members who are in the fortunate position of being able to provide a home to vulnerable young people between the ages of 12 and 17.

There are a number of allowances and payments available to help approved carers ensure a safe and comfortable home for the child, with ample opportunities for learning and personal growth. Approved carers can have their rent costs covered either by contributing to their own property (if it is suitable) or by being provided a rental property.

This program is designed to provide flexibility and support so that successful applicants can provide a stable placement for those needing out of home care.

Potential carers should ideally be placed on the northern beaches, the north shore or the inner west of Sydney, and have an appreciation for the culture of youth. Full training and support is provided.
