PRESS RELEASE: Greens opposition on coal mining and Labour minimum wages increase policy are condemnable:

Greens opposition on coal mining and Labour minimum wages increase policy are condemnable:
1. Farming and mining are the only two primary producing activities on the earth and all other activities depend on these two activities. Also, our country’s economy depends on these two.
2. Coal mining has contributed greatly to our country’s development in particular and human civilization in general.
3. At this juncture of our present times, we realise that it is still a cost effective energy source to our nation.
4. Total coal mining area on ground in the country is less and negligible when compared to the total areal extent of the country. The propaganda about the negative impact of coal mining on the environment is also comparably less and negligible in the overall interest of our country and economy.
5. There is an existing check, balance and recuperation in-built capacities in the nature’s system and in natural environment that any such impact is nullified in the course of time.
6. Coal mining impact on ground water resources is magnified and projected for political gains by suppressing the fact that ground water is part of hydro-cycle and it gets recharged.
7. Greens confined talks about environment, climate change, coal mining and other related issues occupies a small place in the entire arena of nation’s activities spectrum and therefore their policies based on such confined ideology cannot work for the overall interest of the country.
8. Coal mining is the need of the day for our country as it can create jobs, affordable electricity and an opportunity for increasing our in-house manufacturing capabilities in coal based industries.
9. Labour’s policy of minimum wages increase, which has already taken away jobs and country’s in-house manufacturing capabilities can further take away jobs and make more and more people job less.
I being a Geologist by profession with over 25 years of experience and a farmer by birth with owning a olive farm in rural Victoria, passionate and committed to work towards the following needs and problems of the country in my 3rd age to give back something to the country which has given me so much.
a) Increasing jobs and in-house manufacturing capabilities through value addition of primary produce and minerals.
b) Strengthening economy through efficient use & management of land and water resources.
c) Uplifting socio- economic conditions through taxation reforms.
d) Affordable housing & electricity through land zoning reforms and reopening of coal power stations.
e) High speed transport to connect rural areas and highest national security through reforms on assets owned/controlled/managed by foreign powers.
As such, at this point of time, I found United Australia Party’s (UAP) policies in tune with my thinking and ideas and also it has emerged as a major national party. Hence I am standing as UAP candidate for federal seat of Wills in Victoria.
