PRESS RELEASE: Invitation: ๐๏ธ Breast Cancer ๐ Race Car Official Launch
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and it’s no co-indidence that we’re launching the Therapy on Wheels drag racing / passenger ride car for charity. This 707hp Supercharged HellCat Mercedes Benz is the only one of it’s kind in the entire world, and it’s about to make it’s debut right here in Perth, Western Australia.
This one of a kind charity race car will be used to promote awareness of physical and mental wellbeing of cancer patients and their families, as well as providing theraputic relief through adrenaline charged passenger rides on the race track, driven by a Breast Cancer Survivor and experienced racer – Andy Kahle. While the technique is not a new one – previously developed to help treat returned service people suffering post-traumatic stress disorder by putting people in a high adrenaline situation, to help talk about their emotional state – a passenger capable drag racing Mercedes is.
This has been a huge project; with the call being made on the Hellcat engine over an LS because the CLK was built in 2004 during the Mercedes – Chrysler era (1998 to 2007). Fitting a Hemi into a CLK 320 involves a very very big shoe horn! There has been over 1000 labour hours in this build; the car has to be show quality because we want the crowd to be 10 deep whenever it gets showed and it will be getting showed regularly when it is not at the track taking cancer patients or their families for rides.
So to celebrate this momentous occasion, we are holding a launch party to invite our sponsors, media, and a selection of VIPs to have a close up preview of the masterful work of engineering for a very special cause.
So we’d like to invite you to the launch party so you can see the Mer-cat up close, and meet the people who created this unique experience, in person. If you’re unable to attend (or send a representative), please feel free to arrange an alternative time to view the car and speak to the team behind this special build.
