PRESS RELEASE: Job marketplace created for jobless tour guides
Australia’s peak representative body for tour guides, the Professional Tour Guide Association of Australia (PTGAA) is now offering complimentary Associate Membership for tour guides and operators, enabling free access to a career marketplace linking operators to experienced tour guides.
“Our members were hit hard and early during COVID-19. Many of our members are independent contractors and the loss of income and future bookings was immediate. It’s important that we let our members know that we are happy to carry over their 2020 memberships into 2021. In this unprecedented time for the tourism industry, we also wanted to extend support to non-members without work.” said the President of PTGAA, Jim McInerney.
Associate Membership with PTGAA will offer guides the opportunity to stay connected through social media with Australia’s peak representative body, attend professional development and networking events, access industry advice and apply for jobs posted with PTGAA by tour operators. For tour operators and other tourism industry businesses, Associate Membership will provide free job listings to our members.
“By introducing the new Associate Membership category for both tour guides and tour operators, we are in a great position to link up businesses with the most experienced tours guides in Australia for free,” said Jim
Associate membership is now available online for all tour guides and industry participants who employ guides. Join today by completing this form: http://www.ptgaa.org.au/membership/membership-application/
