PRESS RELEASE: MGI Entertainment and Aussie chefs cook up recipes to support OzHarvest

May 7th, 2020 – Sydney, Australia: Battling against the multiple impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, MGI Entertainment has created an innovative promotional campaign with funds raised going to support Australia’s leading food rescue organization, OzHarvest. Served up throughout May and June 2020, this campaign will see the nation’s favorite celebrity chefs and foodies share delicious lockdown-friendly recipes prepared using leading household brands to support OzHarvest’s #HereForHope campaign.

The campaign will be supported by familiar culinary figures; Silvia Colloca, Jason Roberts, Diana Chan, Tom Walton, Louise Keats, Alex Adams, and Dion Woo, with many more key opinion leaders to be revealed shortly. Sponsors include Perfection Fresh, Three Threes Condiments, D’Orsogna, with many more brands to be announced in the days to come.

“It is amazing to see the Australian community come together in times of crisis and the creativity has been amazing,” and is asking leading food and wine brands to support this amazing campaign said Chef Jason Roberts.

“At a time when people are interested in health and nutrition and glued to their screens, this is an excellent opportunity to indulge in kitchen therapy while nourishing our nation,” said Nic Hallberg, of MGI Entertainment.

Helping those going hungry while helping those in the kitchen, the campaign’s hyper-relevant video content is expected to be viewed by two million people via participating celebrities’ social media accounts.

OzHarvest’s Head of Impact, Ashley Killeen, welcomed the campaign support from MGI and said that the effects of the coronavirus crisis, coming so soon after the devastating bushfire season, had created an overwhelming demand for food relief at a time when resources are more limited than ever. “Over five million Australians already rely on food relief and this number is increasing every day. Getting good food to vulnerable people is our priority and every dollar donated allows us to deliver two meals to people in need.”
