PRESS RELEASE: Nine new, non-surgical treatments to help you look your best on your wedding day!

Every woman wants to look fabulous on her wedding day. While there are many cosmetic surgery procedures to improve your looks many of them are expensive, some take many weeks to heal, and some are quite risky.

However, using medical technology to restore that beautiful, youthful look is possible without having to mortgage your house or put yourself through a lot of pain. There are a whole range of advances in medical technology that provide inexpensive and effective treatments.

We asked Dr Mike Shenouda, one of Sydney’s most experienced cosmetic physicians, from the Geniale Centre in Drummoyne, what the best treatments he would suggest for brides-to-be to help them look great on their wedding day.

“Medical technology is advancing all the time as computers help us to design and operate highly specialised equipment such as lasers and radio frequencies to focus on very specific target areas on our patients”, explains Dr Shenouda.

“There have been many new minor medical procedures developed recently to help improve our appearance. Anti-wrinkle and dermal injections, platelet rich plasma (PRP) treatments and thread facelifts, all take little time and are not as invasive or risky as cosmetic surgery.”
We asked Dr Shenouda to recommend nine of the most effective, low-risk treatments and procedures that could help a bride look her best.

1. Improve skin texture with PRP
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is blood plasma containing a high concentration of platelets. Injecting PRP extracted from the patient’s own blood (hence it is sometimes known as a vampire facial) can help regenerate and revitalise damaged skin, reduce fine lines and help to improve skin texture. It produces new collagen, stimulates stem cell division and creates new blood vessels.

2. Thread facelifts
Thread facelifts are a great way to improve looks by enhancing and highlighting natural features lost to premature ageing, or sagging or loose skin on your face and neck. They involve the use of threads or sutures (the same as used in surgery to sew up wounds) being placed under the skin and then tightened. Thread facelifts are much less invasive and more discreet than facelift surgery. This treatment considerably improves texture and glow of skin. The patient is fully alert throughout the procedure, which is performed without anaesthetic or major discomfort. And in complete contrast to the surgical facelift, the client can walk out and be completely healed within a few days, no incisions needed.

3. Use injectables to reduce wrinkles
Injectables are injected into targeted areas of the face and neck to relax specific muscles. This prevents the skin from creasing, causing wrinkles. Many people choose neurotoxin injectables to relax facial muscles and reduce the impact of frown lines, crows-feet, neck bands and smoker’s lines. Injectables maintain fresh looking, youthful skin by combatting the ageing process.

4. Get augmentation for your lips
Lip fillers are designed to plump and add volume to your lips for a smooth and youthful look. Dermal fillers are used to soften perioral wrinkles or to enhance the natural shape of the lips. Other techniques to augment the lips include injections with growth stimulants as well as laser and radio-frequency treatments to stimulate collagen growth.

5. Create soft radiant skin
A laser carbon peel is a revolutionary laser treatment that is completely painless, involves no sutures, and has almost zero downtime. It is highly beneficial for all people looking to polish the appearance of their skin. It works by exfoliating and refreshing your skin, providing an instantly rejuvenated appearance and leaving skin feeling softer and smoother.

6. Get rid of unsightly blemishes and skin lesions
Radio-wave treatments provide a safe, non-invasive way of permanently removing skin growths or lesions from your face or body. If a mole or lesion is affecting your appearance and you want it gone, radio wave treatment is an almost effortless way to improve your appearance. The treatment works for many skin lesions including: skin tags, ruby points, age and sun spots, broken capillaries on the face.

7. Improve your body shape with fat freezing
There is now an alternative medical way to reduce fat without having to resort to liposuction. The latest technology in fat freezing is Cooltech, which offers an effective way to remove stubborn fat permanently. It works by using cooling panels that crystallise your fat cells, which the body with then removes naturally. The procedure which takes up to two hours is so relaxed that you can bring your laptop to do work, enjoy a movie, or simply nap while the process is working.

8. Have a breast and chest skin lift
Breast and chest skin lifts are non-surgical procedures performed with laser technology. The skin around the breast tissue is treated from different angles to tighten the collagen fibres and lift the skin. Skin cells around the breast tissue absorb the laser light causing excess tissue to vaporise.
9. Remove unwanted tattoos
Laser technology is an efficient way to remove tattoos from the body or face. The technology can remove all tattoo colours and ink shades without the risk of scaring. Results are immediate but the number of treatments will vary depending on the size and colour of the tattoo and condition of the skin.

Dr Shenouda provides all of these procedures at the Géniale Medical laser and cosmetic surgery centre, located in the Sydney suburb of Drummoyne, providing discretion and professional service. It also provides access to multiple doctors including cosmetic surgeons, cosmetic physicians, dermatologists, gynaecologists and experts from many other beauty related areas of expertise.
