Pitching for a purpose and changing tomorrow. Impact Academy’s Showcase and Marketplace Event. 21 Feb 2019.

Brisbane based Impact Academy is hosting it’s 9th Showcase and Marketplace Event since 2014 but doing things a little differently this time. This year’s event will be held at Rydges South Brisbane and guests will not only be impressed by the amazing group of changemakers set to pitch their impacting enterprises, they will also enjoy a sit down, two course meal by arguably one of the best kitchens in Brisbane.

From solar powered batteries to lifestyle clothing for women suffering from chronic illness, this amazing group of individuals provide solutions to some of the complex problems our communities face across a broad range of social and/ or environmental issues..

This event is the finale to Impact Academy’s flagship 20 week accelerator program for twelve social impact entrepreneurs. This 9th group of changemakers have been working on their businesses since August last year and this exciting evening is the culmination of hard work and dedication to scaling their purpose driven products. They will now join 100+ strong alumni of social enterprises that Impact Academy has had the privilege of working with to design, develop, launch, fund and grow, some of which will also be on display in the marketplace pre and post the pitches.

“At the core of our program is the focus on setting measurable impact objectives and the management of financial performance. It’s this key combination that enables us to introduce private and public capital to drive social change and benefit the world we live in” said Peter Ball, Founder Impact Academy and Managing Director of Greater Outcomes.

Impact Academy boasts some impressive recent outcomes with four of the ten enterprises from the previous program securing $1.2M in seed investment before even completing the program. These four organisations have since been able to launch their ventures in market to start creating the impact they set out to at the beginning of their Impact Academy journey.

‘We continue to be at the forefront of social enterprise and our investment readiness process ensures that our social entrepreneurs are in the best possible position to attract and secure investment’ said Peter Ball.

“Unleashing the powers of impact capital and social entrepreneurship, means we can tackle social issues at scale. There is still much work to be done but the Asia Pacific Impact Investment Summit held in Sydney late last year was another indicator that there is paradigm shift across the world and Australia is following suit. There are fundamental changes at play and the catalyst moving forward will be securing impact investing to fund the growth of these enterprises” said Peter Ball.
