PRESS RELEASE: POSITIVE COVID-19 PCR TESTS DO NOT JUSTIFY VICTORIAN LOCKDOWNS OR BORDER CLOSURES

• Andrews Government harsh lockdowns in Victoria not supported by science;
• RT-PCR test manufacturers claim the test generates 5% false positive results;
• Testing thousands only creates many false positive findings;
• Likelihood of a positive test actually being negative ranges between 89% and 94%;
• PCR tests for Covid-19 are inherently inaccurate and should not be used for diagnosis or to set government policy;
• Only serious hospital admission numbers for Covid-19 should set policy;
• The minor positive test numbers do not justify any lockdowns or border restrictions.
The Andrews government’s persistence in enforcing the harsh lockdowns in Victoria is not based on valid science, and most epidemiologists and global health authorities discourage a lockdown strategy once the testing and hospital facilities are established. Victoria had these in place in April 2020.
The USA Centers for Disease Control (CDC) states “detection of viral RNA using RT-PCR testing may not indicate the detection of infectious virus or that SARS-CoV-2 is the cause for clinical symptoms, the performance of this test has not been established for monitoring treatment of SARS-CoV-2 infection and PCR tests cannot rule out diseases caused by other bacterial or viral pathogens”. PCR tests are inherently inaccurate. Viral RNA particles captured by a PCR swab must be amplified. Science confirms any amplification over 35 times renders a PCR test clinically unreliable. Current PCR tests for Covid-19 are amplified 45 times or more, which leads to many false positive test results. Most virologists estimate that with large numbers of the population being tested, the likelihood of a positive PCR test actually being a false positive is between 89% to 94%
Further, the PCR test cannot differentiate between inactive or non-infectious matter or debris after the immune system has eliminated the virus. Those few members of the Victorian public presenting with mild symptoms of a common cold, that also test positive to the PCR tests, are highly unlikely to carry an active SARS-CoV-2 virus or be infectious in any way. Further, even the few positive PCR test numbers in Victoria and other States are not statistically relevant or indicative of so-called outbreaks, yet continue to be promoted by the Victorian and other State health authorities, largely to create public fear and justify their flawed policies. According to most recent data from Europe, this virus is rapidly heading to be no more dangerous than seasonal influenza.
There is no justification for the unnecessary harsh lockdown restrictions or border closures by any Australian State, which continue to create shocking social and economic hardships, crippling small to medium sized businesses, with many unlikely to recover. The motives for such continued actions by any State government clearly have little to do with valid or science backed evidence regarding public health.
