Agile Management Office, Aarhus University Launch “Project Empire” for 25 Selected Students.

Australian consulting firm Agile Management Office (AMO) is launching a selective work study programme, Project Empire, in conjunction with the Department of Global Studies at Aarhus University, Denmark. Three years in the making, the programme will be open to 25 Masters of International Studies students, who are based in Denmark. Programme participants will get hands-on learning opportunities in working with an AMO client. They will also get real-world experience in AMO’s unique governance and project management model, the AMO Method, a flexible framework that helps you to coordinate governance and change and implement it. Exceptional participants will be offered an internship with AMO, which has plans to offer the programme at other universities as early as next year.

Pioneered by AMO’s President Fatimah Abbouchi, successful businesswoman, mental health advocate and a governance thought leader whose professional passion and experience has seen her successfully transform how businesses govern change and delivery across portfolios up to $1B and across 16 industries and countries globally.

“Aarhus is a great first partner,” says AMO President Fatimah Abbouchi. “The AMO Method is a tried and true approach to achieving objectives efficiently and effectively in a real-world environment. It will help students learn how to connect the dots between what they are learning and how they can use it to respond to challenges they will face in the business world tomorrow. We’re thrilled to be working with one of the best universities in the world, and we’re confident that the students will bring a fresh perspective to the table and gain the experience they need to build a career when they graduate.”

Project Empire is a semester-long program in three parts. Programme participants will work in groups of five on different aspects of a project for a real AMO client, beginning with four weeks of planning. Phase two will build upon those plans with research and development. Participants will spend the final month producing deliverables and a written overview of the project, which will culminate in an oral exam. Staff from AMO will provide input along the way. Each group’s input will feed a share of the AMO Method.

The coordinator of the Masters in International Studies at Aarhus University is Associate Professor in Governance Vladimir Pacheco Cueva. He is an experienced social scientist, policy advisor, project manager and adult educator with work experience in Europe, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region.

“I’m very pleased that my students are taking part in this work-study program. These students are eager to put all their knowledge and skills into practice in a real-world environment. They want to learn and perform at the same time”.

“This is a win-win partnership for us,” says Abbouchi. “But it’s only the beginning, we’re planning to bring the AMO Method to universities everywhere. Plans include partnering with Australian universities next year, who meet the criteria.”

AMO is currently operating in various ASX100 companies including the Coles Group (AU) who have implemented Agile Management Office in the last 12 months.
