Quest Addresses The Changing Reality Of Donation Acceptance For Charities And Not-for-Profits In Response To COVID-19
In response to COVID-19, Melbourne-based payments technology company, Quest Payment Systems, Australia’s leading provider of contactless solutions and the developer of Donation Point Tap, has developed Donation Point Go. A powerful yet simple way to help charities and not for profits adapt to the new reality of collecting donations where face-to-face contact is limited.
Research into the effect of COVID-19 in the charity space has revealed that many charities and not-for-profit organisations have experienced a major commercial impact. This appears to be a direct result of the loss of face-to-face interaction with donors. In many cases the effect has been so detrimental it has caused organisations, especially smaller charities, to limit or stop support of their cause all together, as they do not have the donations or funds to deliver services.
Donation Point Go uses a single QR code to facilitate donations. The code can be placed just about anywhere and used in both digital and traditional marketing activities. It can be used in direct mail, printed on signage, badges or T-shirts, displayed on a charity’s website or that of their sponsors, or distributed as part of an email marketing campaign.
By scanning a Donation Point Go QR code with a smartphone, or tapping or clicking the QR code if it has been digitally sent to the recipient, a donor is directed to a Donation Point Go donation webpage for the charity, where they can make a donation. Payments through Donation Point Go are seamless and fast by providing donors the opportunity to instantly donate using Apple Pay, Google Pay, or by simply entering their credit or debit card details.
The Donation Point Go webpage is customisable and provides the individual charity or not for profit with the ability to make the page their own. The organisation can include their campaign details, logos and imagery, as well as up to five predetermined donation amounts. The organisation can specify the details of how donations will be used, and even show a running total of the donations received, giving the organisation a powerful opportunity to increase donations from multiple sources.
Organisations have the opportunity to receive personal data should a donor choose to opt-in for further contact. Donors can also choose to publicly share their support for the cause on social platforms including Facebook and Twitter, providing increased exposure to the organisation.
Donation Point Go provides transaction reporting to charities and not for profits via Quest’s Cloud EFTPOS web portal. This portal provides detailed reporting and analytics of donations received across the entire Donation Point product range.
