SPINIFEX BREWING CO – THE TASTE OF AUSTRALIA
A Remarkable story of success and growth in a Pandemic – A Part Aboriginal and Veteran Owned Company.
PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA – JANUARY 27th 2021 — Spinifex Brewing Co: Spinifex Equity Raise achieves + $750,000 in total capital.
Remarkable is a term often used to describe the journey of the Spinifex Brewing Co.
From a start up business launching just as the COVID-19 pandemic began and only three weeks prior to the national shutdown to launching into 2021 with significant capital secured and opportunities, support, and significant Local, National, and International demand for our exceptional range of beers.
The journey in 2020 featured many achievements well beyond what anyone considered possible for any start up business at any time let alone one finding its way in the middle of a global pandemic.
Spinifex Brewing Co has achieved extraordinary growth and exceptional brand recognition since we created a story that many want to be part of, and all are inspired to hear. Spinifex Brewing Co has broken new ground within the craft brewing industry. We have created an exceptional range of beers that are quintessentially Australian with the infusion of native bush botanicals. The market has responded with a collective WOW and the industry has responded with recognition via Silver and Bronze medals in the prestigious London Beer Competition. The story of Spinifex Brewing Co has been celebrated in the new WA Museum – Boola Bardip.
Spinifex are featured in the ‘INNOVATIONS OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA’ Gallery. The gallery showcases our full range of beers, our botanical ingredients as well as telling the stories of:
• our response to COVID 19.
• our inclusion of Aboriginal producers of native ingredients
• our commitment to supporting Veterans through our F88 Campaign.
• our Internationally award-winning beers.
2021 has kicked off in spectacular fashion for Spinifex Brewing Co having just completed our investment campaign to ramp up production and meet the ever-increasing demand.
These investors not only bring financial capital but also significant intellectual capital, passion, experience and skills into this truly remarkable start up business.
These investors include the highly respected Mossenson family., Perth personality Karl Langdon, Shane Crommelin of the Elevate Group and others.
Dan Mossenson has recently retired after a 50-year career as the Lavan Legal emeritus partner and one of the Perth’s most experienced liquor licensing lawyers. He is accredited as the man who helped transform Perth’s “dullsville” hospitality scene into a Melbourne-style hipster capital. Spinifex Brewing Co is delighted and humbled to have Dan join the team as an investor and as non-Executive Chairman of the Board.
“I have provided legal services to the liquor and hospitality industry for over five decades. Spinifex Brewery is the only business that I have encountered during that time that combines part Aboriginal ownership, opportunities for outside Aboriginal people to supply bush product which it uses to create unique flavoured beers and a meaningful charitable contribution to the health of war veterans. Consequently, I have been motivated to become involved in the business.” Dan Mossenson
Diane Mossenson will also join the team to guide the design and development of the proposed Spinifex Ale House development opening Q4 2021 on a yet to be disclosed beach side location in Perth’s Northern Suburbs. The Mossenson’ s strong interest in Aboriginal affairs and the arts through their Indigenart project and Mossenson Foundation simply adds to what we believe is a perfect match with Spinifex Brewing Co.
The Elevate Group has also decided to invest in Spinifex Brewing Co, having witnessed the remarkable achievements and progress made as our accountants and business development consultants. Elevates’ Managing Director Shane Crommelin has accepted a position on the Spinifex Board of Management.
“I’ve known Adam for many years and first got involved assisting Spinifex back in 2019 when the company was setup. The guys are passionate about the industry and have developed an excellent range of products with great opportunities.
When I was initially speaking with Adam regarding the fact that a portion of profits from the F88 beer sales will be donated to Veteran’s charities, he was very keen to support Connected By Inc, which is a charity that I helped establish and sit on the Board. This is a testament to the business that are supporting the local community.” Shane Crommelin
The Elevate Group will continue to provide support in business development and financial management and planning.
Karl Langdon is also a major investor and has joined the Marketing and Sales Team as a consultant as well as a position on the Spinifex Ale House project team. Karl brings a wealth of experience from the hotel scene and an exceptional public profile as a leading sports commentator and former West Coast Eagles Premiership Player.
In 2020 Spinifex Brewing Co developed six botanically infused beers, bringing four to the market including Lemon Myrtle Summer Ale – Wattle Seed Amber Ale – Honey Myrtle Ale and Ginger Beer.
2021 will see the launch of the Spinifex Pale Ale as well as a Spinifex Porter. Native ingredients are primarily sourced through Indigenous Australian producers. All Wattle Seed is supplied by Les Wallam, Syd Jackson and the team at Roeland’s Village in Collie Western Australia.
Spinifex are supporting the River Gum Aboriginal Corporation to develop their capacity for the production of Geraldton Wax and other native botanicals.
Spinifex Brewing Co also created F88 Lager and the F88 Campaign from which 50% of profits from sales from each state are directed to Veterans charities supporting mental health and well being.
Spinifex Brewing Co supports Connected By in W.A, Trek2Health in Queensland and the United Services Rugby Club in NSW. Spinifex is also the beer sponsor for the Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company.
2020 also saw Spinifex Brewing Co become one of only two Australian Breweries to win medals at the prestigious London Beer Competition winning a Silver Medal for the Lemon Myrtle Summer Ale and a Bronze Medal for the Wattle Seed Amber Ale at the time these were the only beers in production.
From this achievement came partnerships to establish export partnerships for the supply of the Spinifex range into Singapore, Northern Europe commencing with Sweden and into South America commencing with Peru.
Spinifex is now available in all States of Australia both in packaged and on tap through liquor stores, hotels and RSL clubs as well as some high-end restaurants such as the Sydney Cove Oyster Bar.
2021 will see Spinifex open our first Ale House; commence export into Europe, South America and Singapore and continue to build and expand the F88 campaign across the country. The Indigenous Australian supply chain will continue to grow and prosper as Spinifex expand both volume and range.
We look forward to working with our new investors and team members in 2021 to continue to bring The Taste of Australian to the world.
