Tackling the Mental Health of Startup Founders, CEO’s and SME Owners Head On

Good Startups announces the release of their Breakthrough Program in Australia

In a recent Tech Crunch article, Jake Chapman wrote that “The most brilliant and creative amongst us are sometimes the most troubled, and nowhere is that clearer than in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. With each passing unnecessary death, the importance of mental health comes briefly into focus… but that focus lasts no longer than a news cycle and nothing changes. The time for lip service came and went long ago. We must take these issues seriously and we need to act.”

The Good Startups team couldn’t agree more, which is why their group of senior leadership coaches, psychologists, and executives designed the Breakthrough Program to help founders and their teams expand their individual, leadership, and organizational skills. As companies grow and scale, it is important that their teams’ psychological, leadership, and cultural development scales at the same time. Breakthrough provides the most critical business development and mindset transformation tools required to sustain and grow a thriving organizational ecosystem.

The three main areas the Breakthrough program addresses are:

Expanding Your Time – From time starvation to time abundance. These modules help leaders move beyond the belief system that you must work yourself to the bone to accomplish your mission. The scientifically-evidenced tools teach leaders mindsets on how to alter their perspectives on time, failure and inspiration.

Transform Your Fear – Move from fear and anxiety to trust and expanded creativity. This segment of the program helps leaders discover how fear is affecting them on physical, mental and emotional levels. Leaders then learn how to transform their anxieties into creative power, new possibilities and clear decision making while improving their overall health and wellbeing.

Break free from Burnout – Moving from burnout to total wellbeing rounds out the three focus areas. Through these modules leaders generate the awareness to catch themselves in their burnout patterns so they can transform their exhaustion into sustained passion, inspired motivation and better performance.

By focusing on these three areas, Good Startups has created exceptional measured results with founders. Using the company’s 18-point scientific wellbeing assessment (provided to each founder who participates in the program), leaders in the program have created dramatic improvements in core leadership skills around adaptability, growth mindset, effectuation (decision making under pressure), and organizational efficacy.

The most impressive self-reported gains came in the areas of Psychological Adaptability (+30.4%), Self Compassion/Growth Mindset (+23.75%), Fear & Decision Making (+17.60%), Time Management (+17.25%), Burnout Resistance (+16.40%), and Emotional Intelligence (+15.30%).

These are all cornerstone areas that directly relate to leadership ability, personal well being, and strong psychological resilience in the face of a stressful work environment. It is clear that by practicing and mastering the Breakthrough skills and mindsets, participants can more effectively navigate hyper growth business environments with resilience and integrity.

As Enoch Elwell, Founder & CEO at CO.STARTERS, an organisation solely focused on training and developing entrepreneurs, says: “It was actually one of the most profound growth periods of my life … the Good startups team went beyond the trite things to really push us down to our core, where the real breakthroughs occur.”

The first of the Good Startups Breakthrough programs entitled “Breakthrough Wellbeing Virtual Summit” will be held from 16 10 18 October, 2019. To register for this specific program to go; https://breakthroughwellbeing.eventbrite.com.au
