MEDIA RELEASE
YMCA and Corethentic join forces to support mental health in Victoria
20th October 2020.
YMCA Victoria has partnered with wellness specialists Corethentic to support the mental health and wellbeing of Victorians. The partnership will see Corethentic offerings accessible for free on the Y’s new online platform, Virtual Y.
Virtual Y was launched in June, with support from the Victorian government, as an online platform supporting the physical and mental health of young Victorians. With Virtual Y, the health and wellness, youth and camping services of YMCA Victoria have been able to continue serving the community while their physical sites remained closed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The Y is excited to be partnering with Corethentic to extend its online offering with new wellbeing and mindfulness content.
“We’re proud to be partnering with Corethentic. It’s an opportunity for us to continue supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people, and the communities that support them, with wellness offerings Virtual Y,” said YMCA Victoria Executive General Manager, Youth, Camping and Disability Services Peta Gillies.
Corethentic is a holistic wellness system designed to bring the body and mind into alignment through specially designed workouts, wellness coaching sessions, mindfulness podcasts and nutritional recipes.
Flic Manning, the founder of Corethentic, expressed her excitement to be partnering with the Y, with whom she shares a lifelong connection. “I have a very special place in my heart for the YMCA and it has been a dream of mine since starting Corethentic, to work with the Y.”
Manning is an ambassador for Crohn’s & Colitis Australia and the Mental Health Foundation of Australia, and is open about how her own physical and mental health struggles inspired the development of Corethentic.
“My experience living with chronic invisible health conditions and mental illness has inspired the holistic approach we take at Corethentic. We want to help everyone to thrive, regardless of their health or fitness levels,” Manning explained.
“Being able to collaborate with the Y now means I can bring the lessons I’ve learned, to the people who need it most. It’s a truly ‘full circle moment’ for me,” she said.
Corethentic is now available for everyone on Virtual Y at www.virtualy.ymca.org.au
