World Forum Taking People Along The New Silk Roads
WHAT IS THIS WORLD FORUM?
The New Silk Roads World Forum (NSRWF) is an independent and non-political entity. The Forum is now on its 2nd iteration and will be staged in March 2020 in Kota Kinabalu, capital city of the State of Sabah (Malaysia) on Borneo Island. The main goal of the New Silk Roads World Forum is to connect countries, cities, peoples and promote positive activities along the New Silk Roads. Each event is staged in a different city and in a different country taking people along the New Silk Roads over the coming years.
1ST WORLD FORUM WAS A SUCCESS
The inaugural New Silk Roads World Forum (NSRWF) was staged in Melbourne in October 2018 at the Monash University City Campus at 271 Collins Street in Melbourne. It was a successful event and was launched two months earlier at the Bank of Melbourne head office building in Collins Street.
2ND WORLD FORUM
The venue of the New Silk Roads World Forum 2020 will be at the prestigious 5-star Pacific Sutera Hotel, part of the Sutera Harbour Resort complex of two hotels, 18-hole golf course and Marina/Country Club. The complex is situated at the famous beach front of Tanjung Aru, only 10km from the city centre of Kota Kinabalu.
SPECIAL COCKTAIL & TOUR
The newly built Sabah International Convention Centre is hosting a Special Cocktail and Tour of its premises for the New Silk Roads World Forum. VIPs, delegates and guests are looking forward to the occasion to enjoy drinks, canape and Kota Kinabalu’s famous sunset, ranked one of the eight most beautiful in the world.
FORUM LOCAL HOST
The Institute for Development Studies (Sabah), also known as IDS, is the local host of the New Silk Roads World Forum in Kota Kinabalu. It is an autonomous, non-profit-making research organisation. Established by the Sabah State Government on 1 August 1985, IDS is devoted to carrying out policy and problem-oriented research on socio-economic and public administrative development issues. IDS serves as a think tank to the Sabah State Government. It also has considerable event management experience and will be a great host of the New Silk Roads World Forum.
