PRESS RELEASE: Office Headset Sales Boom on COVD-19 & Work From Home Shift
While the economy prepares for a possible slow-down due to the novel-coronavirus, some unexpected industries are seeing spikes in sales directly attributed to the coronavirus – such as office headsets.
“We’ve seen a big number of larger USB-Headset sales in the past week, as companies begin to prepare for the possible work-from-home and self-isolation need.” Said Pete Williams, CEO of SimplyHeadsets.com.au
“There is clearly a serious move from many clients preparing for the coronavirus impact; as they gear-up to ensure their teams can continue to work and be productive during self-isolation” continued Williams. “We’re also hearing companies are cutting travel, and shifting to virtual meetings at an astounding rate.”
Henry Reith from the sales and marketing team said “I’m both surprised and impressed that it’s not just the big multinationals preparing. With the move to working in the cloud, many small businesses we talk to have the opportunity to allow their staff to work from home, and are preparing for it.”
“As much as this current spike is a short-term economic win for the business, we do have concerns about mid-long term supply chain issues; given a great number of headsets are manufactured out of the Asian region and will be hit with production and delivery delays.” added Reith.
“I think this Coronavirus is causing a lot of surprises in some very strange ways; and a spike in headsets isn’t something that initially comes to mind when you think of a global pandemic” concluded Williams.
