PRESS RELEASE: Brenniston Launches New Work From Home First Aid Kits
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Melbourne, Victoria – 21 April 2020 – Australian employers with staff working from home can now meet their legal Work Health and Safety (WHS) obligations with a new range of Work From Home first aid kits.
A Gartner HR survey reveals 88 per cent of organisations in Australia have encouraged or required employees to work from home due to coronavirus. According to Safe Work Australia, physical risks when working from home include poor work poor workstation set up, electrical hazards, tripping hazards, low home hygiene standards and home renovation hazards.
A new survey from LinkedIn suggests more than three in five Australians believe working from home will become the norm, even when the coronavirus pandemic has passed.
“Australian employers are legally obliged to maintain WHS standards for staff who are working from home,” said Brenniston Managing Director Michael Boltman.
Brenniston Workplace First Aid launched its Work From Home first aid kits in record time. The Personal kit is suited to one person, and the Family kit is suitable for up to five people in larger households.
Both kits are part of the Brenniston National Standard range. They are manufactured under Brenniston’s Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods Licence, and are guided by Safe Work Australia’s First Aid in the Workplace National Code of Practice.
Mr Boltman said the Australian federal and state governments are still encouraging people to wok from home to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
“We want to help employers make sure all Australians are safe,” he said.
“As a person conducting a business or undertaking, it’s an employer’s responsibility to provide access to a suitable first aid kit at all times, even when employees are working from home.”
Both Work From Home kits offer a variety of first aid applications relevant to low-risk workplaces where injuries and illnesses are likely to be minor. Like all Brenniston National Standard workplace first aid kits they are proudly designed, produced and assembled on-site at the company’s Melbourne premises.
“We uphold Australian standards by sourcing superior, innovative and standards-approved products, prioritising quality over price,” he said.
“Where possible we source Australian-made products and services.”
