PRESS RELEASE: It’s not all doom and gloom for aged care facilities in a COVID-19 world: Post-hail storm repairs at Bill McKenzie Gardens in Page gives elderly residents something exciting to talk about.
Something we’d normally consider mundane – like remedial repairs after a storm – became a highlight in the day of elderly residents a Bill McKenzie Gardens in Page.
Earlier this year, the senior living community at Bill McKenzie Gardens in Page was hammered by a severe storm. Very little of the complex was left unscathed – with hail damage to over 11 buildings impacting roof’s and ceilings, ruining skylights, and decimating electrical wiring.
Savil owner, Dimitri Livas and his team, took on the task of getting the Bill McKenzie Gardens complex back to normal – especially during a time of such uncertainty and worry for our elderly community.
Savil worked closely with RSL Lifecare to ensure that strict COVID-19 measures were met.
“We really wanted to make sure the residents and staff felt at ease and confident with the fact that this important work can – and should – be done, despite the challenging new environment we all find ourselves in. At a time where our elderly community is most vulnerable, these things need not be put on hold if they can be done right with proper protocols and care,” says Dimitri Livas.
It was heart-warming for the Savil team to see that the elderly residents were keen to understand the build methods and were excited about upgrades and additions
For a generation that has given and taught us so much, it’s been Savil’s pleasure to help restore a sense of safety to the elderly community of Bill McKenzie Gardens.
