PRESS RELEASE: Santa’s Cure for Social Distancing
Bringing Santa to 4 million Children at 47,000 schools and daycares in 56 days.
The Global Pandemic may be in full swing, with social distancing now threatening some of our annual Christmas traditions. The Santa photo which has been a social tradition at shopping centres for decades may be changed permanently due to the Covid-19 threat, and school visits from Santa may also not be going ahead due to transmission risks.
But one local Tech company has found a way to get Santa to every child this year, despite social distancing restrictions. Queensland based company, Eredox has teamed up with Cancer Council Australia and the New Zealand Cancer Society to bring Santa to 47,000 schools and day-care centres across Australia and New Zealand using its secure, encrypted Video conferencing platform Eredox Video.
For Eredox CEO, Alf Delli Fiori it is all about the spirit of Christmas. “This is all about lifting the spirits of Australians and New Zealanders. 4 million Children and their families get the joy of chatting Live to Santa.”
And Eredox keeps that Christmas Spirit going. Every child registered gets a “Nice” certificate, parents get to record their Chats to Santa, and a portion of every Chat to Santa booking goes to Cancer research.
Jenny Balmer from Santa’s Queensland can really see the benefits of a Live Chat to Santa. “Children have the opportunity to Chat to Santa Live from the comfort of their own living room and experience the Glory of Christmas. No lining up, and without big crowds it certainly has its advantages,” said Ms Balmer. “Parents and Grandparents can have everlasting memories with the recordings of those special moments with Santa. With the videos you actually capture the look of excitement and enhancement on the children’s faces.”
Cancer Council’s Justin Cain has been working with Eredox to help make this a reality. “Cancer survival rates have increased to 72 per cent from 53 per cent in the 1980s thanks to investment in research. However, there are still cancers with low survival rates and limited treatment options that need more funding. Funds raised through endeavours like this support those impacted by cancer, fund vital research, and improve cancer prevention efforts. Your efforts and generosity will help fund groundbreaking cancer research, which will bring us closer to a cancer free future.”
