Protat recalls Sea Salt and Tea Tree Spray Batch Number BF996 due to presence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Protat has recalled Protat Sea Salt and Tea Tree Spray from Piercing Studios across Australia due to the presence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a Bacteria that can cause serious infections.

Protat Director Mick Haynes said Pseudomonas aeruginosa was detected in the products during re-testing by the independent laboratory in Melbourne.

The affected product has the use by date of: 10/23 and Batch Number BF996.

“As soon as we were informed of an issue, we actioned a recall and we have notified all relevant retailers. We have also been in contact with the ACCC and most State Health Departments” Mr Haynes said.

“Any consumers who have the affected product should stop using it immediately and discard the product. If consumers have any questions, they can contact Protat by calling 1300 364 223 or emailing [email protected].

Mr Haynes said anyone who used this product and has signs of infection such as redness, pus, fevers or swelling should seek prompt medical advice.
