PRESS RELEASE: Regulin launches first TV ad campaign on Prime7 during return of Farmer Wants A Wife

On 4 July, Regulin – the Aussie-invented product that increases fertility in sheep – kicks off its first ever TV advertising campaign on Prime7 during the first episode of another Aussie-hit ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’.

“We’re delighted farmers have been willing to share their experiences of Regulin so readily,” says Russ Davis, from Ceva Animal Health, the company behind Regulin. “They’re a good cross section of customers and they all have a slightly different take on how Regulin benefits their farms.”

The new campaign features five farmers, from a small farm in Victoria with just 450 ewes to large enterprises in NSW with mobs of more than 6,500. The ads will be seen across southern New South Wales and northern and central Victoria in the main sheep farming districts.

“We haven’t advertised on TV until now” says Russ, “we’ve always had our sales reps on the road, but COVID lock-downs and travel restrictions have forced us to rethink how we reach potential customers. We still continue to provide tailored planning and support for all our customers.”

Regulin is used in sheep joined in Spring or early Summer for Autumn lambing and works in all breeds, including Merinos. A melatonin implant is placed behind a sheep’s ear 30-40 days prior to joining and the result is, on average, 20 per cent more lambs through more twins and fewer dry ewes. The lambing window is also shortened, giving farmers more time to manage other priorities and a more even line at marking and sale. Regulin can also be used to advance the joining date to take advantage of available pasture and warmer weather.

“With current prices for lambs at $300 or more, the maths is pretty simple” concludes Russ. “Following years of drought for many farmers, demand for lamb continues to be strong, and we are now in a position to rebuild sheep numbers across the country. What better way to restock your flock than from your own sheep?”

What do the farmers in the ads have to say?

– “Last year our Autumn lambing surpassed our Spring lambing numbers.” Andrew Green, Aloeburn Pastoral Co. Junee, NSW

– “It assists in increasing lamb vigour … it’s an investment in our flock.” Jodie Green Aloeburn Pastoral Co. Junee, NSW

– “We’re now able to join ewes out of season and have them and their lambs ready to go straight out onto our grazing crops.” ‘Kooroogong’ South Western Slopes, NSW

– “It’s made a huge difference to my lambing percentages… if you want early lambs I think it’s essential” Peter Holmes, Baddaginnie, VIC

– “I’m getting lambing percentages of up around 170 per cent, which is a real sense of satisfaction.” Graham Nickless, ‘Dirrawarra’ Byawatha, VIC

The campaign is also being promoted via Regulin’s social media channels and the Auctions Plus website: www.auctionsplus.com.au
