Sydney, Australia, 05/04/2022 – A quick poll conducted with a nationally representative sample of 500 respondents shows that there is overwhelming support from all sectors for retirees to return to the workforce with 90% of respondents in support.

64% of retirees indicated they would willingly re-join the workforce

As Australia faces demand for employees and with unemployment rates at a low, is it time we look to our retirees to strengthen our workforce?

Commenting on the findings, Octopus Group’s John Karathomas, Director of Octopus Group, says with 96% of retirees who support this plan, it shows Australia wants to move forward and its retirees are willing to roll up their sleeves and help Australian businesses succeed after the tough times we all have experienced of late.

This survey was fielded online between dates 04/05/2022 via Octopus Groups proprietary online research panel. A nationally representative sample size of 500 Australians were surveyed.
