PRESS RELEASE: WAGGA FOOTBALL COMMUNITY RALLIES FOR LOCAL HERO IN FIGHT FOR HIS LIFE

The football community of Wagga Wagga are rallying behind one of their local heroes as he fights for his life.

Alex McDonald, a much loved local and member of the Wagga football community, suffered a major stroke in 2021 which has left him paralysed with “locked in syndrome”, meaning only his eyes able to move.

While the fight ahead to regain his life will be extremely slow, the football community are rallying behind the father of 3 to support his wife, kids and fundraise for his medical costs and treatment.

A mycause fundraising page has been set up by the Wagga Football Club for a charity round match, stating: “As Alex has done so much for the Football community please support Alex and his family to help with ongoing medical-related costs including a wheelchair accessible house and car so that he can go home to his family.”
