PRESS RELEASE: Tasmania Celebration with Will Graham coming to Hobart and Launceston
Will Graham, the grandson of well-known American evangelist Billy Graham and son of Franklin Graham, will hold the Tasmania Celebration with Will Graham, 21st May, 2022, at My State Bank Arena in Hobart, and 27th – 29th May, 2022, at the Silverdome in Launceston. Graham, who has preached regularly in Australia since 2010, will bring the same message of God’s love that his grandfather shared in Hobart in 1959, and his father proclaimed in 2005.
“From Sydney Harbour Bridge to the outback to the island of Tasmania, Australia is one of my favourite places in the world, and Australians are some of my favourite people,” said Graham. “After years of planning and preparation, I’m excited that it is finally time to proclaim the hope of Jesus in Hobart and Launceston.”
In addition to inspirational messages from Graham, the Tasmania Celebration will feature music throughout the weekend from The Afters, one of the top Christian bands in the world, and R&B artist CASS.
“So many Australians have incredible memories of Billy Graham. His ministry in Australia over the course of decades made an impact on the nation that is still being felt today,” said Dave Ingram, executive director of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Australia. “We’re excited that Will Graham is continuing his family’s legacy by sharing a message of God’s love and hope with the people of Tasmania.”
Along with the nightly Tasmania Celebration programs, there will be special events for children and young people on Saturday, 21st May, in Hobart, and Saturday, 28th May, in Launceston.
The Tasmania Celebration is free and all are invited. However, a ticket is required for admission. Free tickets can be reserved at TasmaniaCelebration.org.au.

Previous Australia Ministry
Will Graham has made biennial trips to Australia since 2010, with the exception of 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic limited travel. Over the past several years he has held outreaches in Gunnedah, Moree, Tamworth, Orange, Lithgow, Bathurst, Broken Hill, Alice Springs and Kalgoorlie.
Will’s father, Franklin Graham, preached in Brisbane, Cairns, Sydney and Townsville in 1996; Perth in 1998; and Hobart and Melbourne in 2005. He also toured across Australia in 2019, with events in Perth, Darwin, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Sydney.
Will’s grandfather, Billy Graham, famously preached across Australia in 1959, speaking to more than 3 million people in many cities over the course of several months. He returned in 1969 to hold events in Auckland and Dunedin, New Zealand, as well as Melbourne. His last outreach in Australia took place in 1979, when nearly half-a-million people heard him speak in Sydney. Billy Graham passed away on 21st February, 2018, at the age of 99.
