PRESS RELEASE: National Wine Show of Australia awards livestreamed tonight
After a two-year hiatus the National Wine Show of Australia returns tonight with its awards ceremony livestreamed for the first time, from the National Press Club in Canberra.
The National Wine Show of Australia is the competition that determines the best of the best Australian wines, with only those that have won gold or silver at a qualifying Australian show making it to the judging table.
Australian wine royalty James Halliday describes the National Wine Show as ‘the most important wine show in Australia’.
Tonight’s livestreamed trophy announcements will include the Len Evans Memorial White Wine of Show, the James Halliday Red Wine of Show and the premier award, the Prime Minister’s Trophy for Champion Wine of Show.
The livestream of the awards ceremony will begin at 7.05pm on Friday, May 20, with key announcements at the following times:
• 7.05pm – Welcome/introduction
• 7.50pm – Chair of judges report followed by white wine trophies
• 9.15pm – Red wine trophies
• 9.45pm – Top three trophies awarded
