PRESS RELEASE: F**k Injustice: Male Survivor Launches Clothing Line To Help Raise Funds For Charity.
Harrison James is a 22-year-old survivor from Sydney, who is dedicated to promoting an end to violence against children. Driven by this cause, he has been recognised and made a local ambassador by The Polished Man, a foundation that encourages everyone to take a stand and actively commit to ending violence against women and children by painting one nail in order to start a conversation. Statistics show that 1 in 2 children experience violence each year and 1 in 3 women have experienced violence in their lifetime. Fellow ambassadors include the likes of, Nazeem Hussain, Luke McGregor and Tommy Little.
After releasing an 11-minute video online in March detailing his story, Harrison has started multiple projects, his latest of which includes his clothing brand ‘F**k Injustice’ which he hopes will expand the conversation of this issue to implement change amongst peoples attitudes as well as ‘inject a little good into the world’; James stated “F**k Injustice is for any underdog. Anyone who just wants to live their life authentically and pursue their dreams, but has had to endure limitation and discouragement every step of the way. This is a jab toward anyone who has abused their power against the vulnerable.”
The line released on his website – harrisonjames.org on the 27th of June, and proceeds from every purchase made is donated to The Polished Man, where funds raised support trauma prevention and trauma recovery programs for children who are at risk of, or who have suffered violence. “By funding both trauma prevention and trauma recovery programs, we are able to improve the lives of survivors now, while building a safer future for tomorrow. That’s how we will end violence against children.”
The line consists of brightly coloured hats, shirts and a hoodie and James hopes to bring the issue of child abuse to the forefront and spark conversations amongst many Australian families, in order to change attitudes and preventing such atrocities occurring.
