The Summit, Queensland – Queensland Wine Region – July 2022 – Forget champagne… it’s Martini glasses that are clinking in celebration around Conrad Distillery. Conrad Distillery was awarded the prestigious Double Gold Medal for their first Vodka scoring an impressive 96 points and claiming runners-up for Best Vodka against world-class international rivals at the 2022 Inaugural International Women’s Spirits Competition.
The competition brings esteemed judging panels made up exclusively of professional women winemakers, distillers, sommeliers, retail buyers, beverage industry educators and journalists to recognize the best spirits submitted plus judge which spirit would appeal most to women buyers and consumers.
Conrad Distillery’s Mistress of The Still and founder Debra Spence is thrilled and humbled to receive such prestigious awards early in the Distillery’s story. It validates the team’s hard work and passion for bringing this great spirit to life.

Founding Director and Distiller - Debra Spence, the Sole Director and Graduate of the University of Adelaide of Fundamentals of Spirit Production, has been distilling for the cosmetic chemistry industry and has a vast understanding of the aroma and taste of distilled products. Coining the phrase – Drinkable Perfume – Debra is driven to produce products that excite and please the cognisor.
Right-hand Man - William Spence, an engineer with 40 years of experience, greatly loves vineyards. With his passion for cooking, hosting, and entertaining, together in support of Debra, Conrad was established. It is where he showcases his zeal for fine spirits, mechanism management and engineering, cellar door and maintenance.
Brand - Conrad means bold advocate. The name enables the company to align its standards and products. Conrad Spirits are built on three pillars, Exclusivity, Innovation, and Connection, by providing exceptional service and products.
