PRESS RELEASE: Idyll collects GOLD in New York for a second year running

The New York International Wine Competition was recently held in New York, New York with over 1,400 submissions from over 24 countries across 50 categories. Geelong’s own Idyll Wine Co was awarded a full suite of medals. For a second year running, Idyll collected a Gold Medal in New York for one of their signature red wines.

In 2021, the Idyll Victoria Cabernet Sauvignon collected GOLD whilst their Idyll Victoria Shiraz collected BRONZE at the same competition.

This year, Idyll Wine Co’s Arcadian Cabernet Sauvignon collected GOLD, whilst their Arcadian Shiraz collected SILVER and Arcadian Merlot BRONZE. The Arcadian wine range is produced from grapes sourced from the Murray Darling wine region, which are crushed and fermented by Idyll, before being bottled at Idyll’s Moorabool Valley (Geelong) production facility. The Arcadian range focuses on fruit-forward wines, that are uncomplicated and medium-bodied. At only $10 per bottle, it’s a top-quality wine that can be enjoyed at all occasions.

Executive Director Andrew Byers said that Idyll is incredibly proud of its beverage manufacturing team for producing products capable of obtaining such wonderful international recognition. “Results like these are only possible with the dedication and skills of a dynamic team.”

In recent years, Idyll has collected accolades in New York, London, San Francisco, Melbourne and Germany for a range of own brand and private label wines.

To purchase the award-winning Arcadian range, be sure to head out to Idyll’s local Cellar Door open Monday-Friday 10am-4pm. Limited quantities are available.

About Idyll Wine Co

View Website

Idyll Wine Co. is sited on the original Idyll Vineyards – planted in the late 1960’s by Darryl and Nini Sefton. The vineyard was part of the Moorabool Valley’s renaissance, being the first re-planted vineyard after the region had been decimated by phylloxera in the late 1800’s. Some of those original vines still remain and the vineyard has been redeveloped to include Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier to produce our Methode Traditionelle sparkling. In 2016 the Costa family invested in the company injecting new vigour and capital in the business. The team on the ground prides itself on continually pushing the boundaries of technology, technique and skill in order to produce wines and other beverage products of exceptional expression and quality, all whilst embodying our company values of Family, Trust, Possibility and Innovation.
