Tasting Trail announces the return of TrailGraze for 2023, an event that celebrates the incredible food and beverage producers in north-west Tasmania.
After the success of its inaugural event in 2022, this year’s TrailGraze will be held on 22 and 23 April, and feature more than 30 producers, whose offerings include wine, cider, craft beer and spirits, cheese, meats, seafood, condiments and confectionery.
TrailGraze turns the usual food festival ‘guest chef’ format on its head, by inviting some of Australia’s best chefs and beverage professionals to discover the region for themselves ahead of the event.
Building on last year’s ambassadors which included the likes of Luke Burgess, Palisa Anderson, Clayton Wells, Massimo Mele and Analeise Gregory, this year’s event welcomes newcomers Lilly Trewartha, Danielle Alvarez, Mike Bennie, James Welsh and Sabina Newton to explore this inspiring yet untapped region of Tasmania.
Inspired by the abundant produce on offer, these highly-regarded chefs and beverage professionals have created a series of recipes highlighting some of the champions of Tasmania’s food bowl with delicious drink pairings to match. These special recipes will be showcased at farmgate locations throughout the event weekend, encouraging visitors to truly graze the trail. A souvenir book containing all of the guest chef recipes will be available for purchase during and after the TrailGraze weekend.
TrailGraze will include workshops, behind-the-scenes tours, tastings, live music and exceptional food. More than 1,000 attendees enjoyed TrailGraze last year, with many visiting from interstate, and local producers are looking forward to another highly successful weekend full of delicious food and drink experiences.
Held just ahead of the Anzac Day public holiday, TrailGraze invites visitors to traverse their way throughout the spectacular north-west’s rolling green hills and stunning coastal vistas to sample award-winning produce and meet the personalities who call the region home.
TrailGraze is an initiative of the popular Tasting Trail, a year-round self-guided touring experience in the north and north-west of Tasmania. The Tasting Trail committee has collaborated with premium producers and tourism operators to create interactive online maps and recommended itineraries that enable visitors to engage deeply with the region’s extraordinary agriculture.
Now an annual event, TrailGraze is free to attend, but attendees will be required to register ahead of the weekend at trailgraze.com with the chance to win a TrailGraze package including flights, accommodation and car hire for the weekend.
