PRESS RELEASE: Professor Munjed Al Muderis to speak at Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association (AOPA) Congress 2023

Professor Munjed Al Muderis, the Australian orthopaedic surgeon and founder of Osseointegration International, will be presenting papers to the AOPA Congress at the Crown Conference Centre, Melbourne, which will be held from October 19th to 21st, 2023.
This prestigious event, now in its 13th year, is Australia’s largest gathering of orthotist/prosthetists and healthcare professionals, dedicated to showcasing excellence and fostering collaboration within the industry.
Under the theme “Collaboration for Excellence,” the 2023 AOPA Congress will offer an extensive and engaging program, featuring sponsored and AOPA-led workshops, free paper presentations, deep-dive panel discussions, and keynote presentations. This year, the focus will be on cutting-edge clinical content that reflects the evolving landscape of orthotic and prosthetic treatments.
Professor Munjed Al Muderis, an internationally renowned figure in the field of orthopaedic surgery and a pioneer in the use of osseointegrated titanium implants will deliver two presentations:
1. “The Use of Osseointegrated Titanium Implants to Treat Bilateral Amputees.”
2. “Medium-term Outcomes of Transfemoral Osseointegration in association.”
These presentations will take place on the opening day of the Congress, October 19th, between 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM. Attendees can expect to gain invaluable insights into Professor Al Muderis’s innovative work, which has transformed the lives of amputees worldwide.
In addition, Osseointegration International will be sponsoring a workshop: “Osseointegration connectors for OPL system.” The training session aims to enhance knowledge of the OPL system and its connectors for osseointegration patients, in terms of prosthetists’ scope of practice, device maintenance, serviceability and troubleshooting of common problems.
