PRESS RELEASE: AHHA welcomes new Board Members at 2023 AGM
The Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association (AHHA), the voice of public hospitals and not-for-profit healthcare in Australia, is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Board Members at the 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM), held during the 2023 Value-Based Health Care Congress in Brisbane 26-27 October.
We welcome Dr Tina Janamian, Group Chief Executive of Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL), and Mr Mike Bosel, Chief Executive Officer, Brisbane South Primary Health Network, as newly elected members of the AHHA Board.
Ms Yasmin King, CEO of SkillsIQ, was re-elected to the Board and remains Chair of AHHA’s Audit & Risk Committee. Ms King has served on the AHHA Board for several years and continues to provide dedicated expertise and leadership to AHHA.
‘Dr Janamian and Mr Bosel both bring a wealth of experience and expertise and are valued additions to the AHHA Board,’ says AHHA Chief Executive Kylie Woolcock.
Dr Tina Janamian was recently appointed to lead the AGPAL Group of companies and is also an adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Queensland.
She has over 15 years of senior leadership experience and a diverse background across academia, health care transformation, workforce development and health services research. Dr Janamian is a passionate leader driven to support Australia’s primary health care reform and is committed to improving integrated health care service delivery through patient and care provider feedback, continuous quality improvement, systems redesign and innovative models of person-centred care.
Mr Mike Bosel is an experienced CEO and senior health care executive officer with experience in working for not for profit, publicly listed and private companies both in Australia and in the United Kingdom.
Over his 30-year career, Mr Bosel has overseen the delivery of aged care services (both community based and residential), community mental health services, children and family support services, homelessness outreach initiatives, carer support programs and community health education schemes. He has held senior roles with FKP (Aveo), Prime, Eureka and Gateway Lifestyle, in addition to aged care organisations PresCare and TriCare.
AHHA would also like to acknowledge the dedication and contributions of outgoing AHHA Board member, Professor Wendy Moyle, Program Director, Menzies Health Institute, QLD, a highly awarded researcher whose work has evolved around the areas of evidence for best practice in gerontology and in particular dementia care. Wendy has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience during her term and will be missed.
