Sydney and Gold Coast Entrepreneur Nick Milillo Revolutionises Trailer Sharing with Hire My Trailer

Sydney, [30/1/24] – Recognising the untapped potential of idle trailers in residential areas, Mr Milillo, a seasoned businessman with a background in software development and project management, has successfully introduced Hire My Trailer, an innovative instant hire platform.
Launched under his venture, Mercury Commerce, the platform allows individuals to seamlessly share their trailers, making the process of trailer rental efficient and cost-effective.
Hire My Trailer, the flagship offering on the Mercury Commerce platform, is designed to simplify the trailer rental process. Users can easily upload their trailers through the website or app, receive bookings, prepayments, rental agreements, bonds, and payments.
Available for Web, Android and iOS App users, the platform has garnered nearly 700 new users within the last year of operation alone.
With a user base edging up to 9000 individuals nationwide and approximately 750 trailers listed for hire, including over 100 in Sydney and surrounds and 99 in South East Queensland, Hire My Trailer has quickly gained traction as a convenient solution for trailer sharing.
The inspiration for Hire My Trailer struck Mr Milillo when he noticed the prevalence of idle trailers in residential areas across Australia.
“Hire My Trailer was born from the observation that just about every street in Australia has a least one house with a trailer sitting idle in the yard or carport,” Mr Milillo said.
“At the same time you have people using expensive, short-term hire processes to take a couple of loads of rubbish to the dump.”
One of the app’s notable advantages is its cost-effectiveness. Mr Milillo highlighted, “It costs $250 to hire a medium-box trailer through Hire My Trailer for seven days. That compares to close to $400 if it is done via UHAUL. That is a big saving for consumers.”
Moreover, Mr Milillo emphasised the simplicity of the hire process, stating, “It is such a long process when you are signing paper contracts at Bunnings or another provider.”
“What we have done is automate the whole rental process from start to finish.”
The platform eliminates the need for cash transactions, ensuring a secure electronic rental agreement that protects both the renter and the trailer owner.
“It all comes down to the trailer owners wanting to earn an extra bit of pocket money,” he said.
Mr Milillo is not only catering to individual users but also offering the platform to large companies to create their customised ‘white label’ versions of the product.
Hire My Trailer stands as a trailblazing solution, transforming idle trailers into valuable assets for owners and providing a convenient, cost-effective option for individuals in need of trailer rentals.

About Hire My Trailer

View Website

Hire My Trailer is an enabler of person to person trailer rental, by putting unutilised trailers to good use. On every street you will find at least one trailer sitting idle in a front yard not being used. Someone on that same street would like to use a trailer but doesn't have one readily available. Renters of Trailers will no longer need to drive kilometres to find their main stream hire company, reducing time and effort whilst also reducing the cost of the hire. Trailer Owners can make a bit of spare money by renting out their trailer to residents in the neighbourhood.
