Groundbreaking Moment: Concordia Lutheran College Turns
the First Sod on the multi-million dollar Master Plan.

In a historic move, Concordia Lutheran College has broken ground on the Junior Learning Centre. This significant milestone is the vision and reality of an integrated College. Uniting on one campus will provide a better cultural and
educational experience for students, parents and families. After combining a rich and varied history spanning almost 80 years in the Toowoomba community, Concordia Lutheran
College is investing in the future to ensure students receive the best possible education with modern facilities on one integrated campus across both the Stephen Street and Warwick Street locations. “Breaking ground on the Junior Learning Centre is an exciting step for our College. It reflects our dedication to providing an environment that inspires every student’s potential. This development is not just an addition to our facilities but a testament to our vision for the future. It’s a joy to be part of this historic moment that will benefit generations of students,” Head of College, Mr. Anton Prinsloo said.

“We are very happy to be building a partnership with Toowoomba-based Watcon Building Group for this project. The project promises significant local impact, generating jobs in the community,” said Mr Prinsloo.
“This will provide jobs for 180 local tradespeople. I connect deeply with Concordia’s Christian values and feel privileged to work with a community that mirrors our ethics and morals. It’s a milestone for us as a business, especially
since my own children are students of Concordia,” Joe Watson, Managing Director of Watcon Building Group added. The Junior Learning Centre will enhance student engagement through flexible, project-based learning environments. Each classroom hub, featuring adaptable spaces, is designed to support both traditional and innovative learning methods, encouraging a seamless fusion of indoor and outdoor educational experiences.

Stage One introduces these innovative classroom hubs, beautiful integrated playgrounds, and modern amenities, ensuring a rich environment for personal growth and academic achievement. The architectural design has been carefully considered to respect and incorporate Concordia’s historical aesthetic, while introducing modern elements to create an inviting learning atmosphere. “Working with Concordia has been remarkable. The Junior Learning Centre is more than a physical space—it’s a catalyst for educational excellence woven into the natural beauty of the campus. This project illustrates our shared vision of creating environments where students and educators thrive together,” said architect Trish Abel from Elevation Architecture.

Under the Master Plan, the College has developed stronger sports and performing arts programs which will continue to go from strength-to strength with improved facilities. A new Administration Centre, Resource Centre, Performing Arts Centre, Boutique Boarding facilities and Sports Centre are all planned for future phases of construction.
