PRESS RELEASE: he Doyles Art Award prepares for its 21st year.

The Doyles Art Award, an acclaimed fine art award founded in the small town of Mudgeeraba Queensland, is now accepting entries to its prestigious competition for the 21st time. The award boasts a winning acquisitive prize of $20,000 and an overall prize pool of $33,000.

The not-for-profit organisation is serious about promoting original fine art created by Australian artists. Last year the finalist exhibition featured over 500 original artworks in several categories. The major category being Landscapes with smaller representations of figurative, still life, junior and all ability categories.

In 2024, Nick Offer, a Canberran artist took out the first prize.

“Receiving the award is a timely and crucial reminder that one is not just toiling away in obscurity,” said Nick.

Artists’ creative pursuit requires hour upon hour of work, learning and self-criticism and it is with trepidation that many artists expose their work to the public eye. The Doyles have earned a reputation for providing an excellent award experience and we encourage aspiring and accomplished artists to put in an entry and give it a go!

“Receiving an accolade such as this is career changing and highly validating.” says Doyles event director Sam Sinner. “We help artists achieve exposure and sales which pave the way for further opportunity and possible gallery representation. Our 21 year history has been upheld by a genuine passion for art and a keen understanding of the trials of being an artist.”

“Art brings our community so many benefits” says Gillian Grove, also a director of The Doyles. (Gillian owns and operates “Artable” – a successful art tuition business, specialising in workshops and retreats.) “I see people from all walks of life connect through the arts, and find a way to express themselves. In its 21 year history, The Doyles has enjoyed wonderful ties to all parts of the community both artistic and business. It’s about all kinds of people enjoying and supporting creativity.”

Entries close on the 16 May 2025. If you would like to volunteer at, sponsor or enter this event, please head over to www.thedoylesaward.com.au for more details.
