PRESS RELEASE: Hannah Stow Unveils Hard-Hitting New Single “Traits “

Emerging Boorloo / Perth indie pop artist Hannah Stow continues to captivate listeners with her
poignant storytelling and emotional depth in her latest release,
“Traits.
” The track, which marks her
second release of the year, delves into the complex and often painful themes surrounding the journey
of boys growing up into men.
‘Traits’ explores themes of violence, judgement, and masculinity, challenging listeners to reflect on
their own relationships with themselves as men or with men. Is the way they behave a product of their
upbringing, the relationship with their parents, or a cultural construct ingrained from a young age?
These powerful questions form the foundation of the song as Hannah Stow captures the intense
emotional rollercoaster that comes with tackling the uncomfortable truths of male behaviour.
Hannah Stow is proving that she’s here to stay, with “Traits” continuing to build on the momentum
from her previous release “Let me know”
. Her second release is just another example of her refusal
to slow down as she tackles raw topics with honesty and heart.
“I have three brothers and I know their gentle traits as well as the ones that get them into trouble.
Watching them grow from young boys into men, as they get into fights, cheat, bottle up emotions or drink
to fill voids – I know they will be judged on their actions with no consideration of how they got there. I
always wondered if the bad parts of them were a construct of their environment or something embedded
in just being a man.

This collaborative track was recorded in Perth with production by Dylan Ollivierre (Grentperez, Meg
Mac, Tia Gostelow, Holy Holy, Great Gable, and Joan and the Giants) incorporating guitar by Calvin
Bennett (Mariae Cassandra, YURA, Keanu), drums by Jack Hill (Noah Dillion, Carla Geneve) and
then mastered in Brisbane by Blake Malone (Amy Shark, Tia Gostelow, Peach Fur).
