PRESS RELEASE: Journey Development Programs and Kinglake Forest Adventures Camp Achieve B Corp Certification

Journey Development Programs (JDP) and Kinglake Forest Adventures Camp (KFAC) are Victorian-based specialists in experiential outdoor learning and are proud to announce certification as a B Corporation (B Corp). This globally recognised accreditation reflects JDP & KFAC’s deep commitment to delivering people-centered learning experiences with purpose, care, and long-term impact. KFAC and JDP are the first camp and outdoor activity providers to achieve this certification in Australia.

As an independent operator of camps and outdoor recreation journeys, they are proud to be part of a community of responsible, values-led organisations delivering experiential learning to students and organisations across Victoria.

“We’re not just running programs, we’re research and qualification-driven experiential educators delivering real impact,” said Col French, Director of the organisations. ”Our work is about developing skills, confidence, resilience, and connection through outdoor experiences – we don’t hope the outcomes will occur, we are really intentional about it. Being B Corp certified formalises what’s already been at the core of how we operate: putting people and the planet first.”

JDP and KFAC offer a range of camps, incursions and extended outdoor recreation experiences that combine structured learning with real-world challenge, reflection, and personal growth. These programs, especially more recently the incursions and multi-day day programs, are designed to be cost-effective and accessible for schools and organisations while delivering high impact. Recent examples include a survivor-themed experience for St Francis Xavier College, where they delivered 1,650 days of student experiences over three consecutive days and an energetic “Big Day In” incursion for Eltham East Primary School. Both programs focused on teamwork, a sense of place, and student engagement.

“Even within the limitations of time and cost constraints, it’s our intention to have an impact and leave students with a positive experience and most importantly the curiosity to seek further experiences in the outdoors,” French said.

Like many of their peers, JDP and KFAC maintain ongoing philanthropic relationships with community and youth development organisations, contributing to broader social outcomes beyond the school gate.

“B Corp is more than a badge, it’s a recognition of the role independent outdoor education providers like us play in shaping better futures,” said French.
