PRESS RELEASE: AMBITIOUS NEW AUSTRALIAN SCI-FI FILM SPACE/TIME AVAILABLE TO RENT OR BUY NOW!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 2025 // Brisbane Australia

Ten years in the making. Hundreds of visual effects. One wildly ambitious dream.
After a decade in the making – and following multiple sold-out cinema sessions around the country
– the fully independent science fiction feature SPACE/TIME is now available to watch at home,
launching on Video On Demand across Australia and New Zealand. Distributed by Umbrella
Entertainment, the film will be available on platforms including Apple TV, Google Play, Amazon
Prime, YouTube, Foxtel Store, Fetch, and Sky.

Full details can be found at www.spacetimemovie.com

Directed by Michael O’Halloran and co-written with Adam Harmer, SPACE/TIME tells the story of a
group of scientists developing an engine for interstellar travel. When a breakthrough leads to a fatal
disaster, their project is shut down – and the disgraced team must turn to the criminal underworld
to continue their work on a space-time device that could alter the course of history and the future of
humanity.

Produced by Mohworks Films, the film stars Ashlee Lollback, Hugh Parker, and Pacharo Mzembe,
and blends modern sci-fi filmmaking with classic storytelling. Described as Breaking Bad meets
Back to the Future, the film balances high-concept ideas with a character-driven narrative, aiming to
engage both sci-fi devotees and casual viewers alike.

Shot entirely in Queensland, SPACE/TIME showcases a striking mix of recognisable locations
giving the film a strong visual identity. It brings together the work of both experienced and emerging
local filmmakers and actors, and stands as a testament to what’s possible when homegrown talent
is empowered to pursue bold, original storytelling.

SPACE/TIME was produced by O’Halloran, Harmer, and Jai Hogg, and marks the first feature film
for many of the core creative team, including VFX artist Justin Leggereit and composer Adrian
Diery. Despite it’s modest budget, the production features over 800 visual effects shots, completed
primarily by Leggereit. The film’s sweeping orchestral score was performed by the Melbourne
Symphony Orchestra.

For O’Halloran, who grew up in Queensland making movies with school friends, this film is the
culmination of a lifelong dream. It’s not just a story about bending space and time – it’s about not
waiting for permission to make your movie. It’s about backing yourself, and chasing the thing that
matters most.

The film is being distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Umbrella Entertainment, and will be
available on DVD September 3.

Support independent Australian cinema – watch SPACE/TIME at home from June 25.
