PRESS RELEASE: Great Divide Mining Upgrades Processing Plant Performance

Great Divide Mining Ltd (ASX: GDM) today announced a suite of successful electrical, mechanical, and process control upgrades to its Challenger mine processing plant—part of the company’s ongoing focus on operational excellence and production reliability.
Enhancements include electrical control system modernisation, improved sensor integration across the crushing circuit, and mechanical optimisations to reduce potential future down-time, ensure sustainable levels of production in the longer term and enhance operator safety and working environment.
GDM Chief Executive Officer, Justin Haines, said the upgrades have already translated into improved plant stability and performance.
“We’ve now got a plant that will run reliably all day, every day—and that’s the foundation for a reliable revenue stream,” Haines said.
“These upgrades may not be headline-grabbing, but they’re the kind that materially lift productivity while lowering operating costs and risk. It’s about building confidence into every ton.”
“This plant hadn’t been operated in over 8 years,” he went on, “seals can perish in the sun, lubricant can dry out in bearings causing then to run hot.”
“It’s all the little things that add up. It’s the crawl, walk run strategy,” said Haines.
“The first pour is important, but GDM isn’t planning to just pour first gold and pause,” Haines went on, “we’re aiming for first pour plus an on-going sustainable operation – so long as its commercially sensible at initial rates.”
With the plant operating under controlled conditions and output metrics strengthening, the company is now well positioned to focus on incremental throughput increases, backed by ongoing processing trials and feed optimisation.
GDM remains committed to methodical, staged development as it progresses toward consistent, cash-flow-positive production.
“As a gold producer, GDM understands the importance of the numbers around production, but still,” he smiles, “I just can’t wait for that first Gold Pour!”
