PRESS RELEASE: HANNAH STOW UNLEASHES EMOTIONALLY CHARGED NEW SINGLE “LETTING YOU OFF”

Out July 4, 2025 | Produced by Liam Quinn | Co-written with Noah Vernon
Perth-based FIFO Nurse Hannah Stow is making the transition into music and is steadily becoming W.A’s Indie-pop prodigy. Hannah returns with her fourth release of the year, “Letting You Off”, arriving July 4. The track is a searing, intimate portrait of betrayal, self-deception, and the painful aftermath of love that turns out to be a lie.
Produced by Liam Quinn (credits include Rita Ora, Guy Sebastian, Peach PRC) and co-written with rising talent Noah Vernon (known for work with Elaskia, CLOE TERARE), “Letting You Off” showcases Hannah’s signature blend of emotional rawness and atmospheric pop songwriting—something that Kate Miller-Heidke once called “haunting” during Hannah’s audition for The Voice Australia.
Lyrically, “Letting You Off” explores the devastation of learning that someone you trusted implicitly has betrayed you. The story draws from a real-life situation involving a long-term relationship shattered by infidelity—but the details are left open-ended, encouraging listeners to find their own truth in the wreckage.
Opening with the visceral imagery:
“Caught the plans in my head / 10 tabs open / we could sit here and stare / catch a breath of fresh air…”
The song introduces the listener to the paralysis of grief and overthinking. But it’s the lyric:
“it’s you / it’s always been you”
that quietly devastates. It speaks to the painful reality that, regardless of what someone does, your heart still returns to them. That feeling of helpless forgiveness is mirrored in the song’s title and central hook:
“I’ve got a knack for letting you off / I’m over it honest to God”
—a self-aware admission of the emotional loops we get stuck in when love and loyalty collide.
Stow explains, “This song came from watching someone close to me lose everything they thought they had. Eighteen years of love, trust, and history—gone. That kind of heartbreak shakes your whole sense of reality.”
Lines like:
“Wash the blood from my hands / patch my scars, start to think of a backup plan…”
exemplify Hannah’s unflinching lyrical voice, which has become her trademark. Known for not shying away from the darker corners of emotion, she continues to cement her place as one of Australia’s boldest emerging artists.
Following a string of well-received releases this year, Hannah is set to perform at Perth’s Milk Bar on August 8, and will open for AVIVA this October, further solidifying her growing presence in the Indie-pop scene.
