PRESS RELEASE: Global Talent Touches Down in Sydney This August for Indoor Skydiving Championships

105 Teams. 150+ Athletes. 3 Days. One unforgettable event as the world’s best take flight!

Sydney, Australia: The countdown is on. From 8 to 10 August, the 2025 Australian Indoor Skydiving Championships will take place at iFLY Indoor Skydiving (Downunder), drawing elite flyers from Venezuela, Europe, Singapore, and across Australia to compete in the Southern Hemisphere’s most powerful wind tunnel.

With more than 150 athletes across 105 teams, this year’s event marks the biggest Championships yet, combining elite-level competition, Olympic aspirations and a welcoming platform for athletes of all ages and abilities.
Entry is free to the public, with the event live-streamed to an estimated 500,000 viewers worldwide.

“This is world-class flying right here in Western Sydney,” said Matt Boag, Sports Development Manager at iFLY. “It’s fast, it’s technical and it’s exciting to watch!”

International flyer and Red Bull athlete Kyra Poh from Singapore will compete in six categories, bringing serious global star power to the tunnel. She’ll be joined by passionate local teams, family duos and rising youth flyers, including:

• Annabella-Angel Bailey, a former gymnast whose Olympic dream was cut short by injury. She now fundraises to support her indoor skydiving journey and hopes to represent Australia on the world stage.
• John King and his kids, Eva and Lucas, who train, fly and compete together – proving it’s truly a multi-generational sport.

This year’s event also features a record $20,000 prize pool, made possible through major support from Public Safety Training & Response Group, a national leader in emergency training and response services.
Indoor skydiving continues to grow as a competitive discipline with increasing calls for Olympic inclusion. The sport’s visually stunning performances and wide accessibility have made it a standout for young athletes and those seeking a new way to move, connect and compete.

“Indoor skydiving is everything the Olympics stand for: elite skill, athleticism, global appeal, and growing community inclusion,” said Holly Jaadla, Entertainment Marketing Manager at XRGroup. “It’s only a matter of time before it hits the world stage.”

Whether you’re cheering from the sidelines, tuning in online, or getting your first taste of tunnel flying, the 2025 Championships promise energy, emotion and a chance to see Australia’s next generation of athletes take flight.
