THE 16TH ANNUAL “WORLD INDIGENOUS BUSINESS FORUM” IN MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA
Melbourne, Australia – We are proud to announce that Melbourne will be the host city for the 16th annual World Indigenous Business Forum (WIBF), taking place in October 28-30, 2025. This global event is expected to attract delegates both Indigenous and non-Indigenous from around the world, marking a significant milestone in the international Indigenous business movement.
WIBF 2025 will serve as a platform for leaders from various sectors, including business, government, academia, and industry, to converge in Melbourne. The forum will focus on the exchange of ideas, strategies, and innovations that drive economic empowerment and development within Indigenous communities worldwide.
The World Indigenous Business Forum has been a beacon for fostering global connections and showcasing Indigenous entrepreneurship since its inception in New York City in 2010. The forum has previously been held in locations such as Sydney, Australia; Namibia, Africa; Guatemala; Hawaii; Saskatoon; Chile; New Zealand; Vancouver; Colombia; Papua New Guinea and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Melbourne’s selection as the host city reinforces Australia’s ongoing commitment to supporting Indigenous business leadership on the world stage.
The Indigenous Leadership Development Institute, Inc. (ILDI), the founding organization of WIBF, alongside Kinaway Chamber of Commerce are excited to co-host this event.
“The World Indigenous Business Forum represents the global movement of Indigenous entrepreneurship.” said Alex Martins, Chief Executive Officer/Acting of Kinaway Chamber of Commerce. “Bringing this event to Naarm allows us to connect our local business leaders with international counterparts, fostering meaningful partnerships and celebrating the impact of Indigenous economies around the world.”
Barb Hambleton, Director of WIBF added, “WIBF 2025 will be an extraordinary gathering, bringing together voices from every corner of the globe. Our focus will be on sharing knowledge, building networks, and creating opportunities that resonate far beyond this event. It will further build your business network while also creating meaningful long-lasting friendships!”
