A Milestone in Education: Epworth’s Scholarship Program Tops $10 Million

GJK Facility Services and George Stamas AM Support Epworth .

Melbourne, October 2025 — Epworth HealthCare has marked a significant milestone, awarding more than $10 million in staff scholarships since the inception of the Epworth Medical Foundation Scholarship Program. This achievement has been supported by philanthropic contributors, including George Stamas AM, Founder and Director of GJK Facility Services and Vice Chair of the Epworth Medical Foundation.

Since 2008, the Scholarship Program has assisted more than 2,000 Epworth staff across a wide range of departments, providing opportunities for further education, training, and professional development. What began with six scholarships has now grown to more than 270 scholarships funded this year alone .

2025 Scholarship Recipients Recognised

Two Epworth staff members were recognised at the 2025 Scholarship Ceremony for awards supported by the Stamas family:

📌 Aedan Kerr

Recipient of the Stamas Family Support Services Staff Scholarship
Recognised for his professionalism, dedication and commitment to expanding his skills within Epworth’s Support Services team.

📌 Sharee Burton

Recipient of a Stamas Family Scholarship supporting Indigenous staff
Acknowledged for her leadership, personal development goals, and her contribution to strengthening cultural understanding within the workplace.

Both scholarships were presented by Jaqui Maree Stamas at Epworth in October 2025.
