PRESS RELEASE: Peregian Garage Doors Encourages Sunshine Coast Property Owners to Check Garage Doors as Storm Season Begins
Local garage door specialist highlights the role garage doors play in protecting homes and businesses from wind damage.
PEREGIAN BEACH, QLD, NOV. 3, 2026 — Peregian Garage Doors, a garage door supply, installation and repair business serving Peregian and the wider Sunshine Coast, encourages homeowners and businesses to have their garage doors checked as Queensland’s storm season gets underway.
Queensland’s storm season typically runs from November to April, bringing the risk of strong winds, heavy rain, hail and tropical cyclones. Garage doors are often one of the largest openings in a building, and they can fail when strong winds push them in or out. When a garage door fails, wind can enter the building and increase pressure on the roof and walls, raising the risk of wider structural damage. Wind-rated garage doors or bracing systems can reduce this risk.
Before severe weather arrives, property owners can check that their garage door opens and closes smoothly, that springs, cables, rollers and tracks show no signs of wear or damage, and that hardware and fixings are secure. It is also important to confirm that the manual release on an automatic door works, since power outages are common during storms, and that seals are intact to help keep out wind-driven rain. Doors with dents, rust or damaged panels may be less able to withstand high winds.
Peregian Garage Doors supplies, installs and services residential and commercial garage doors, including sectional, roller and custom doors, along with industrial-strength doors for warehouses, workshops and commercial premises. All doors it supplies are made in Australia by leading Australian brands. The business also installs automatic openers on existing doors and upgrades systems with Wi-Fi control, wireless keypads and safety beams.
Its technicians repair common faults such as broken springs, snapped cables, malfunctioning openers and damaged panels, and emergency repair services are available for urgent problems. A standard new door installation can typically be completed in a single day, and no-obligation quotes and assessments are available.
With more than 16 years of hands-on experience, Peregian Garage Doors is based in the Peregian area, including Peregian Beach and Peregian Springs, and serves the surrounding Sunshine Coast, including Noosa Heads, Noosaville, Sunshine Beach, Sunrise Beach, Cooroy, Cooroibah, Doonan, Eumundi, Yandina, Nambour, Yaroomba, Marcoola, Mudjimba, Pacific Paradise and Maroochydore.
