PRESS RELEASE: New Documentary “Dangerous Wonder” Captures an Australian-Nepali Doctor’s Faith and Frontline Relief in Flood-Ravaged Nepal

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA — November 4, 2026 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: In response to the catastrophic floods that recently devastated Nepal, a powerful new documentary, Dangerous Wonder: A Doctor’s Faith in the Face of Nepal’s Greatest Need, is set to premiere this December. The approximately one-hour film chronicles the extraordinary journey of Dr. Sambridhi Adhikari, an Australian-Nepali medical doctor who left the safety of her practice to deliver urgent disaster relief and frontline medical care to isolated communities in her homeland.

The decision to document this profound step of faith was born from a desire to highlight the greatest call a human being can answer: to serve others. Dangerous Wonder explores what it means to answer that call, especially when it costs us our comforts, our money, our time, and the inherent risk that comes with placing ourselves in harm’s way for the sake of those in desperate need.

Dr. Sambridhi has carried this deep desire to serve in her heart for many years. However, it wasn’t until Nepal was overwhelmed by the recent historic floods that she realized she could no longer just watch the news from afar. Within her capabilities as a physician, she knew she had to go directly to ground zero to demonstrate the perfect love of God to others in a tangible, life-saving way.

“When we serve people, we walk alongside them and hear their stories—an opportunity to bring hope, healing & restoration to broken things and broken hearts through love,” says Dr. Sambridhi.

Well into her third week on the ground, Dr. Sambridhi has been traveling with Nepali videographer Piyush Kayestha, capturing the raw, real-life stories of grief, resilience, and healing that will make up the heart of the documentary. The project is being brought to life in collaboration with Henry Leung, owner of Nebula Media Group and a Melbourne-based indie filmmaker renowned for his work bridging the gap between scientific rigor and human-centric storytelling.

Before hitting theaters throughout Australia, an exclusive pre-screening of Dangerous Wonder will be held on December 5 at The Summit Club Nepali and Indian Restaurant. Attendees will have the opportunity to view the film, hear directly from the Executive Producers and Videographers during a live Q&A session, and enjoy an authentic Nepalese entrée dinner or buffet included with their entry.

This documentary is more than a film; it is a movement poised to change the global culture of missions and inspire others to step into their own calling to serve.
