[SYDNEY, NSW] Looking for love this Valentine’s Day? 71% of Sydney pet parents wouldn’t date or be friends with someone their pet didn’t like. Additionally, 66% would judge you if you didn’t like their pet. According to PetO’s latest survey, the best way to your love interest’s heart, is through their pet!
Dogs and cats have a lot more control than you may think! With a massive 75.3% of Sydney pet owners also stating that they only make holiday and social plans based on their pet.
Melissa agrees, “He [dog] is my best friend. I’m not married and have no children, so he is my child. I prioritise my life around him and making sure he gets his daily walks and has someone to look after him so he isn’t alone.”
1 in 2 people rely on their pet emotionally more than their friends or family and 38% confessed that they have told their pet something that they have never told anyone else.
“Pets are a significant part of our lives. We cherish the unconditional love they give us and in return, we regard their comfort and opinion very highly! We see this often when pets visit to choose their own toys, food and beds.” PetO owner Nick Greenhalgh confirms.
According to Jo, “My dog is the bridge between me and my friends and family. He has really brought us comfort, unconditional love and happiness. Sometimes he understands me more than anyone else and he loves me for who I am regardless of what I did that day.”
